Strathmore’s Pink Pad Project
Make something hopeful with The Art Store and Strathmore Paper!
Strathmore® is proud to partner with In My Father’s Eyes for the introduction of two limited-time pads featuring bright pink covers.
In My Father’s Eyes is a non-profit organization that works with families of children who are fighting a life threatening disease or who have lost their battle to provide a hand-drawn portrait at no cost to the family. The goal is to help these children focus on their beauty instead of their illness and provide their families with a lifetime of memories through an heirloom portrait.
Each portrait takes approximately 30 to 40 hours to complete. Artists lend their time, but you can give the gift of hope.
Strathmore will donate 5% of profits from our sales of these pads. We are offering these pads at the Art Store because we believe in the idea that artists can use their gifts to promote hope, love and beauty in the face of hardship.
About the pads:
300 Series Sketch Pink Pad
The paper inside the Pink Sketch pad is the same white sketch paper featured in our 300 Series yellow cover sketch pads. It’s perfect for quick studies, practice of techniques, and experimentation with any dry media. Made in the USA. This pad also comes with 20 bonus sheets! What a deal!
400 Series Strathmore Artagain® Pink Pad
Strathmore’s Artagain paper is a unique, fiber-enhanced sheet that works great for soft pastels, charcoal and colored pencil. It contains 30% post-consumer fiber and is proudly made in the USA. The Artagain Pink Pad contains 24 sheets of the soft desert rose color which has a mid-tone pink background, allowing artists to add dark shadows and bright highlights. This paper is a very unique color that you won’t see in any other pad.
About In My Father’s Eyes Portraits: Cover artist Brent Anderson was born in Lubbock, TX in 1964. Although not formally trained as an artist, he has been an artist all his life. From an early age, he was drawn to art and could always be found creating, building, or drawing something as a child. Brent’s creative side comes out in the kitchen as well, where he loves to create and experiment with new dishes. He expressed his passion for art through intricate and detailed drawings of wildlife or outdoor settings. Brent created several drawings on consignment for both individuals and for commercial applications as well. His work can be found hanging in homes across the West Texas area. Brent has been married to his beautiful wife Susan for 26 years, and has three wonderful children. Susan is a cancer survivor and will celebrate 12 years cancer free in February. He founded the 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization: In My Father’s Eyes, Inc. in 2014 to bless families of children diagnosed with cancer, or families who have lost children to this horrible disease with framed portraits of these beautiful fighters. In My Father’s Eyes provides all of this at no cost to the families. If you would like you can contact Brent here.
