March Class Update

We are happy to say that the painting, colored pencil drawing and sculpt

ing classes are a go for March.

Thursday’s acrylic, oil and water-soluble oil painting class* has met its minimums and is proceeding*. This class is an introductory to intermediate painting class for oil and acrylic techniques. It will cover the basics of palette setup, mixing as well as starting a painting within a positive atmosphere of learning through experiencing a studio setting with a professional painting instructor with over 20 years of experience. Materials and techniques will be explained as well as value and color studies to create your chosen painting subject. The class is not a forced lesson by the instructor but a choice of the student to paint what they would like to paint. The instructor also teaches in round robin style of student participation.

Friday’s Colored and Watercolor Pencil Class* has also made its minimums and is proceeding*. This class is an introductory to intermediate drawing class that is for beginners to practiced students. It will cover the basics of color pencil techniques and watercolor uses on different papers within a positive atmosphere of learning through experiencing a studio setting with a professional painting instructor with over 20 years of experience. Materials and techniques will be explained as well as transfer techniques to create your chosen drawing subject. The class is not a forced lesson by the instructor but a choice of the student to draw what they would like to draw. The instructor also teaches in round robin style of student participation.

Saturday’s Sculpture/Ceramics Class is also proceeding.* This class is for all interested introductory to intermediate sculpting, ceramics and molding students. The student has the choice of sculpting with ceramic or oil based clays and the freedom to decide to mold their original clay or fire it to a permanent form with the provided kiln. Resin, wax, plaster and ceramic reproductions can be produced in this class. The instructor has over 30 years of experience in assisting master sculptors to complete their visions as well as produce museum grade art. The instructor had owned his own bronze foundry and cast for internationally known artists. Estimated molding experience at over 4000 molds. The class is held on Saturdays and is offered in single sessions only. The instructor teaches in a round robin style and positive teaching styles.

The Watercolor Workshop at the end of the month is also proceeding. This workshop is an introductory to intermediate watercolor class that is for beginners to intermediate students. It will cover the basics of palette setup, color mixing, correct art material techniques and equipment applications within a positive atmosphere of learning through experiencing a studio setting with a professional painting instructor with over 20 years of experience. The instructor will be demoing the techniques and teaching in a round robin style as well. The workshop is a creative lesson with some freedoms shown by the instructor. This workshop is filling fast so please register in a timely fashion.
