New Product Announcement: Expanded family of Gamvar Picture Varnish. – Receiving this week!
gamvar finish changeMore and more painters are seeing the benefits of varnishing their paintings. Varnishing with Gamvar is the simplest and fastest way to make your oil and acrylic paintings look better. Based on feedback from artists, we are very happy to introduce Gamvar Satin™ and Gamvar Matte™.
Gamvar Satin gives your work a unified and protective satin surface. Gamvar Satin saturates colors in your painting, yet dries to a lower gloss level compared to original Gamvar.
Gamvar Matte gives your work a unified and protective matte surface. Gamvar Matte™ reduces surface sheen, while maintaining the deepest values in your painting.
The formula for original Gamvar is not changing. Gamvar as you know it is now being called Gamvar Gloss™. The label will clearly identify Gamvar Gloss as “Original Formula.”
Like original Gamvar Gloss, Gamvar Satin and Gavmar Matte stay water-clear and can easily be removed with Gamsol™. All of our Gamvarvarnishes are odorless and can be applied when the thickest areas of your painting are dry and firm to the touch.
On Gamvar Satin:
“It’s perfect. It has just the right amount of sheen to unify the surface of a painting. I love having a protective varnish that doesn’t distract from the paint.”
—  Aimee Erickson
“A wonderful addition the Gamblin product line. The soft luster of the satin finish is perfect for portraits and gives a nice, cohesive surface to my paintings.”
Dawn Whitelaw

The Art Store is receiving this new varnish this week. It will be found in the Gamblin paint section.
