Advanced beginner & intermediate level workshop

August 31st (Wednesday), 9:30 to 12:30, (one hour lunch), 1:30 to 5:00PM

Instructor: Robert Knudson, teacher, professional artist has offered to share his collective knowledge that he has attained during his continuing successful career as a professional Artist for over 50 years.

This workshop is for those who have a knowledge of the basics of oil painting and picture building and are eager to move ahead.

If this is where you are at in your painting, then this workshop is for you!

  • Understanding and managing better picture organization and composition, better freedom of ideas and creative planning and better
    color and value choices are some of the subjects we will work with.
  • Getting past the frustrations.
  • Thinking & planning more clearly.
  • Moving beyond the doldrums and into a greater freedom of what and how you paint.
  • A path to more exciting and successful results.

Landscape painting will be our focus as you renew your vision for greater understanding and achievement in your painting. Landscape opens up all kinds of painterly possibilities with its great variety of light, atmosphere, subject matter and color.

Join us for this one-day workshop in August.  Cost is $150.00 per student for over 6 hours of instruction.

Ages 16+.  **Minimum: 4 students and Maximum: 8 students

Mr. Knudson is one of the most requested instructors in our area. I would plan on registering early for this workshop due to his popularity.

September’s Basic Drawing

If you are just getting started or are in need of a review of what you may have already learned, this class is for you.  Success in other art techniques are often dependent on how well you have learned to draw. Exploring the assorted techniques of charcoal and graphite are used in this class.

Cost: $100.00 for the first four Saturdays or $30 per individual session if class is already underway.

12 years and older.

**Mininum of 4 & a maximum of 10

No art or drawing experience is required and this class is an introductory skill level class so all skill levels are encouraged to attend.

September’s Sculpture Open Sessions

K&K Studios and the Art Store offers a course on the Principles of Sculpture & Mold making. Enjoy building a bust of your loved one! Or creating a voluptuous form in plasteline or ceramic clay with the correct supports.  From designing in the round, to the proper equipment and tool techniques to mold making, your imagination is your only restriction.

Sculpture: This is a water-based clay and an oil-based clay sessions. Firing of your projects built in class is included in the class fee. Size and quantity of projects are limited by the present equipment. Please ask about these restrictions.

The sculpture studio offers (3) throwing wheels, a slab roller and a clay extruder for your project needs. The kiln in the store also fires from low to high fire (cone 06 to cone 10).

clay wheelK & K Studio’s sculpture class is held at 1pm-4pm is usually running on the first four Saturdays.

Open enrollment, all skill levels accepted. A maximum of 8 students is allowed in the studio space so one on one instruction has greater possibilities for the honing of your skills.

Many of the attending students are sculpting, throwing, building their projects from week to week to be molded or fired in class. Not all students attend every session in September.

 


The Art Store is also hosting a monthly class on the basics of Watercolor this September. See details below:

September’s Introductory Watercolor Class

This class will focus on the physical nature of watercolor. We will explore the different aspects of art materials, equipment and techniques.

Just some materials & equipment  to be discussed and experimented with:

  • Student Grade & Professional Grade Paper
  • Watercolor Brushes
  • Student & Professional Grade PaintsWater Color Event
  • Archival or not? Why? & more!

Just some techniques to be experimented with:

  • Keeping the white of the paper
  • Color Mixing
  • Layering
  • Lifting
    & more!

Sign up today online, calling us or stopping by the Art Store. Seating is limited to the first 6 students. The minimum for the class is 4 students.

Join us on the first four classes from 10am – 1pm. Cost is $125.00 per student for all 4 sessions during the month or $36 per individual session if class is already underway.

You can make amazing leaps and bounds in your pastel work in this class!

Don Rantz will guide you through learning and enhancing your skills in the enchanting medium of pastels. Internationally recognized as one of the best pastel artists, Don is open and eloquent in his instruction.

Join us on the first four Tuesdays’ classes from 2pm–5 PM.

The instructor is requiring all new students to attend the afternoon class to view his first day demo. All returning students can choose their time slot after the afternoon has met its minimums.

Cost is $125.00 per student for 4 sessions during each month or $36 per individual session if class is already underway.
