What this workshop will be focusing on is the understanding of color theory and how color mixing adds to an artist’s creative toolkit. You’ll learn to mix and you will always be able to get that just right color. No more buying every color offered or mixing a large amount of paint to not be able to find that color again.
The range of expression and feeling in your artwork will be greatly enhanced. Being able to masterfully communicate with color can bring your artwork to the next level.
Humans began to see color about 30 million years ago. The cave paintings in France (17,000 BCE to 15,000BCE ) used a limited color p
allete of earth tones. Later sites show evidence of yellows and greens in the hunting scenes. Sir Isaac Newton developed the first Color Wheel in 1704 as part of his Optiks study.
Oils, acrylics, watercolor, pastels and digital Art have broadened and expanded our use of color and color mixing today. We will be discussing these materials and more.
