As you may have heard, we’re revamping our class and workshop offering here at The Art Store. While we are not offering classes we want to let you know about other exciting opportunities to learn and create around town. We’ve made a list of 5 great art classes and workshops – May and June, in the Prescott Area. These are not offered here at the Art Store, but at various places in the quad city area that you may not have heard of!  Check it out:

  1. Reflection Word art workshop, hosted by JennyT Designs:

Bring your friends or meet new ones at this neat Reflection Word art workshop hosted by JennyT Designs! Click the image above or HERE for more information.

Come sip some tea or wine and snack a little while you reflect on what inspires you, then create a unique, one of a kind piece of reflective word art. Give yourself permission to make art! Come create in the comfort of my home and art space. All supplies are provided along with snacks and drinks. Minimum participants 4, max 8. Call your friends and book it quick!

In this workshop, Jenny T walks you through a reflective project that pulls from the inspirations of your own experiences to create a beautiful, reflective, unique piece of your own art.


2. Mountain Artists Guild: Patrick Harper – Plein Air Oil Painting – May 15-17   Supplies List

(Hint: we have all of these supplies at the Art Store! Ask for your student discount!) This plein air painting class is for beginners to advanced painters, and is offered by Mountain Artists Guild, 928-445-2510.

This class is for beginners to advanced, in oils OR acrylics!  Here you see Patrick in his natural environment, painting en plein air.

One day studio covering plein air techniques, two days painting outside. On site critiques. Instructor demos everyday. Plein air is amazing & challenging & fun. You’ll love it!


3. Mountain Artists Guild: BETTY CARR  Acrylic and Oil painting Workshop – CAPTURING LUMINOUSITY IN A PAINTING

This painting class is for beginners to advanced painters, and is offered by Mountain Artists Guild, 928-445-2510. Learn to create an impressionistic painting in both acrylic and oil paints. Students can use both mediums or paint in just acrylics.

Learn to create an impressionistic painting in both acrylic and oil paints. Students can use both mediums or paint in just acrylics. We will be learning the use of acrylics for the “block-in” stage for an oil painting as well as an acrylic. Betty will be providing the oil paints. 4. Clayote Studios: Mixed Media Journaling

Offered by Clayote Studios in Prescott Valley, Wednesdays 11am to 1pm. 5/17 to 6/14. No-stress art-making with fun mixed media techniques including stenciling, collage and resists

Exercises to make contact with that well of creativity that is the human birthright. Play with new mediums and tell your stories with images. Art journaling is about freedom to be yourself and create art that is meaningful for you. Any level of art-making experience welcome.


 5.  Clayote Studios: Mudslingers wheel classes for adults

Thursdays from noon to three or stop in ANYTIME! Walk-ins welcome! Includes: Demonstration, one on one assistance, extra clay for decorating, studio time, raku glazing, and kiln services!
